It’s been a while.
I’ve been doing some things. Nia has too. Here she is, soaking up some sun at Sauvie Island this July.
What I haven’t been doing, is getting into a routine. When Labor Day weekend approaches, I feel a surge of desperation hit. So many things to do now! Before it’s 40 and rainy and cloudy for a million months in a row.
Like bike riding. I love my new bike.
Eat random stuff for dinner and feel totally satisfied.
Go on drives to places like this at 9 in the morning.
And buy fresh produce, from real farmers that grow stuff around here.
And don’t forget the trips! Yosemite might be one of my favorite vacation destinations.
But now it’s time to get back into routines. I love summer, but the chilly mornings and clear, crisp, sunny days of fall are nice too. It’s time to get a new notebook, and a haircut, and make resolutions to be more organized and have patterns.
I have a few of these routine resolutions.
1. Be a little more consistent with the blogging thing. Mom and I were talking about posting once a week. It seems like a good place to start, rather than having so much to say but no structure in the writing, or on the opposite end, having nothing to say because seriously, is my life that interesting to post every day? I say it’s not. Once per week though, would give me some structure and some goal to achieve weekly, so it’s not so overwhelming, and there’s some interesting content behind it all.
2. Organize my life. I can start it out, but I have follow-through issues. This will act as an inspiring guide to make it happen.
3. Stay on the bike. This has become one of my most favorite activities, and I don’t want it to die when it turns to rain and 50 degrees. Some of my best ideas revolving around work and life come up when I’m pedaling, and appreciate the biking community that exists all year long around here.
But for now, I’ve gots to enjoy the rest of those summer days. Here’s to ice cream and playing bocce in the yard.
